I have little ability and no reputation as a programmer; neither am
I particularly fussed by grammar; on the other hand I am quite
compulsive obsessive about ambiguity.
The above sentence seems ambiguous:
1/The horse raced past, the barn collapsed.
-Two things happened not neccessarily connected
2/ The horse raced past the barn, collapsed.
- The horse raced past the the barn in a state of collapse (?)
well what did I miss?
